Has anyone put Triumph heated grips on their BA or SM? I've seen a SM advertised as having Triumph grips but can only find ones for the Rocket or Tiger on the Triumph parts sites. I'm not really interested in the wraparound types so want to try a stock option.

Just saw your question. I put a set of heater elements, the kind that you wrap under the stock grips, on my 05 America about a year ago. They work very well...in fact, on the high setting the throttle grip gets too hot as the heater element is not directly on the metal of the handlebar but rather on the plastic of the throttle under the grip. Overall I am very pleased with it. Installation was simple - took about an hour including running wire and installing the switch - and cost was low. Could not find another solution - no ready to install heated grips anywhere.

Olav, I also installed the same set up you mentioned.
On high setting it blows a fuse but on the low setting it works great and is plenty hot. I ran all the wiring through the bars, must have stripped a wire when pulling through the bars.

No biggie low setting is plenty hot. About $29.95 if I remember correctly.
