I would like to thank CUREFAN for this post. It has helped me to sort out the adjustment of the IKON 7614's. It's just a starting point, but will get you on the right track.

A few weeks ago, I posted regarding my experience with trying to figure out at a starting point for setting up my Ikon 7614 shocks. I mentioned that I had emailed Ikon a couple of times without receiving a response. It turns out they were on vacation and replied to my query when they returned. Here's what I learned:

The recommended setup for the "average rider" riding solo is 15 -20 mm from the the free length of the spring. For example, the springs on my shocks are Ikon number 204, so the free length of the spring is 235mm. Therefore, the normal solo riding position would be with the spring at 215 mm. After that one would look to add 5-7mm (1/4" in other words) more load per change in situation from solo to pillion to load.

I emailed back and forth a few times with Geoff at Ikon and he was very helpful. I had already found that setting my shocks up with a free length of 225 mm seemed about right for me (I only weigh 145 pounds.), but it was great to have some verification that I was in the right ballpark. I'm very impressed with the shocks at this setting and am also impressed with Ikon's customer service. I'll definitely be doing business with them in the future.
Use this link to find the free length of your springs.

My spring is #222 so my free length is 250mm. Do the math from there. I have settled on 235mm for my setup- Rides nice!

Thanks CUREFAN.
