After reading Keef's post about Hagon fork springs I decided to get a set myself, I picked up a set of Gen-u-wine Triumph fork Gaitors as well. The gaitors showed up yesterday so I changed everything out..... I didn't bother farting around measuring air gaps in the fork leg, merely measured what came out, (450 cc's give or take per leg) and refilled them with the same amount of 20 wt fork oil, slipped the new gaitors on and re installed everything.

I test rode it last night on some good twisties by my house but it was cold and dark with deer all over the place so I couldn't get too carried away. I'm pretty impressed with the difference non the less, the combination of the Nitro rears and the progressive fronts really tightens up the handling.

One thing that surprised me was the low grade fasteners used on the bike, my Trophy used good quality Allen's all over. These were little more than chromed pot metal loose in the threads and dry fit to boot. I anti-seized everything and snugged them up good was pleased how everything went together. Overall I'd say it was money well spent and a pretty significant improvement over stock.

I agree...Got the Hagon's earlier this year and am very pleased with the lack of front end dive at stopping but still great bump protection on the front end...

Steven,
Glad to hear it went well - good job. I reckon you'll really start to feel the difference as you get used to the new handling characteristics over rougher surfaces, especially when cornering.

The gaiters I fitted were for a BMW K75 - good enough quaulity, but perhaps a tiny bit too long. No real problem though. However, I just pulled the bottom of them further down over the fork slide, cut a small hole in the bottom fold and secured the tops tightly to the stanchions hard against the underside of the lower yoke.

You might try going through Dave Quinn Motorcycles in Connecticut their number is (203) 393-2651. The Hagon part number on the box is FS 500-088-11.....those are for an '06 but I'm sure they fit yours as well. cost was $129. USD and they're worth the money. Hagon recommends 20wt fork oil and mine used 450 ml. per leg. install with the tighter wound springs on top.....It's a very easy job.

I just this morning received mine, I ordered directly from Hagon and the number on the box is 400-088-11

They recommend SAE 20 oil (supplied with the springs) and a 150mm air gap with the forks at the bottom of travel.

I give another thumbs up for the Hagon springs. My box was marked 500.088.11 for Bonneville '00 onward, even though I ordered for Thruxton.

Well so much for the nearby distributer.. says they have never heard of a number like: FS 500-088-11 and there is no ikon spring for bonnevilles.. Will try elsewhere but was really hoping to avoid the duty charges etc etc... I did notice Bellacorsa sells them.. so may just wait till spring after some of the big bike shows here.

Email Hagon and buy direct off them, that's what I did.
Here's their address.
