Anyone running a wider-than-stock front tire, especially on a Bonneville (ie, 19" front wheel)?

I long ago ran out of chicken strip on my front tire, so would like something a little wider/lower-profile so I can eke out a little more lean angle in the twisties. A 150 rear tire has accomplished this for me in back, but I haven't really found a suitable replacement in front. Looks to me like there'd be enough clearance for at least a 110, possibly a 120; anyone tried this?

Probably be a bit nasty mate - you'd sacrifice some of the sharp-steering which Bonnies are so famous for and makes them such sweet handlers; I also wonder whether there are very many options for wider profiles in a 19inch wheel...? I think this thing with wider tyres = larger contact patch is a bit of a chimaera really. Anyway, I much prefer the narrower hoop and the excellent steering and tracking characteristics it brings.
Good luck with your research, might get spome interesting informed responses
cheers, Pat

Mark,

Don't forget that by adding wider tires to you bike, you are increasing the rolling mass. That and the added weight of the tires can also hurt your handling.

But I know they look soooooo good !!!!!

I run a 110 Lasertec by Metzeler. A slight difference in handling but I like it.

I'd think a 90/90 would give you quicker steering. Seems better to go that way than the other.

I recently installed (on the W650) a 120/90-18 instead of the recommended 130/80-19. Does she roll into a turn easily now!

Although I've been running the 150/70-17 Dunlop on the rear of my T100, I may go back to the 130 size and see if I like the quicker handling better. Probably will. The Bonnie doesn't seem as sensitive to variations in tire size as does the W650.
