Hello Folks,
I inquired earlier this month about upgrading my 2003 T100 to a larger front sprocket. Thanks to everyone for their input.
I called a local Triumph dealer here in Connecticut to ask if they would have an 18T in stock. Yes they did, and they offerred to install while I wait. I asked to set up an appointment, and they said they could do it that afternoon, so I took a few hours off from work and brought the bike in.
1 hour and 10 minutes later, I was on my way back to work. Total parts and labor invoice was $76.87. Life is soooo good.
My observations are as follows:
17T @60mph=3500 rpm, 70mph=4200rpm, 80mph=5000rpm
18T @60mph=3400 rpm, 70mph=3900rpm, 80mph=4600rpm
It feels just about right. Again, thanks to everyone.
Best regards,
Barry

I have the 18-tooth as well and I really like it. I was getting a lot of vibration through the M-Bars and the new sprocket has made a big difference.

Parts and labor $42.00. Love the change, just right.

Now thats strange cause my 05 T100 is supposed to have an 18T sprocket, but I'm sure is doing over 4000 at 70 mph.

My math may be off - I will recheck, but simply running the numbers (gear ratios), it appears the engine will turn 944 times with the 18T instead of 1000 times with the 17T. There's no attempt here to relate it to road speed.
Anyone else want to take a shot at this?
17T 18T
1000 944
2000 1888
3000 2832
4000 3776
5000 4721
6000 5665
7000 6609
8000 7553

If someone here can still link the "Gearing Commander" from a few months ago in this forum, it will figure out the road speed for you. With a 19-t sprocket it worked out to be 108 mph at 6120 RPM in 5th.
Try this: http://www.xs4all.nl/~ator0437/gc/gc_main.htm

Reply to DannyChrist:
I did not find any significant drop off in acceleration changing from 17T to 18T. The Bonnie still straightens my arms.
I do need to be aware that when passing another vehicle, the rpm's should be about 3500 or better to give me max performance and a "quick pass".
Best regards,
Barry
