Has anyone on the forum modified a Thruxton so that the bars and footpegs are in the same (or near same) location as they are on the Bonneville?

The other approach .... has anyone mounted the Thruxton TOR exhaust system or any other Thruxton components on a Bonneville? I'd love to have a Bonneville with the Thruxton's instrument panel and TOR pipes and silencers, and the least inexpensive way would seem to be be to convert the Thruxton into a Bonnie, if that's possible. I'd want to leave all the Thrux body parts on the bike, since they're already 'chopped'.

I really like the appearance of the Thruxton, but know from just sitting on the bike at a shop that it wouldn't work for me on an extended ride.

Are you talking BMW extended ride, or just a few hundred miles? I don't do long rides, but I've done a 500 mile day with lots of twisties and it was fine. I didn't bother with luggage, so carrying much would be a problem.

I have a Thruxton exhaust system but with D&D cans on my Bonnie. I like the look of the thruxton exhaust better, hands down the bonnie is better for longer rides.

My Thruxton / Bonneville Couldn't handle the clip-ons anymore on long day trips - so at 19,000 swapped for LSL bars - no problems the past 4000 miles. JCW

The older I get, my definition of an 'extended ride' changes. I've installed MotoTwins low bars on my T100, and find them just ok around town, perfect at speeds over 65-70mph.

Some of the other responses to my question show examples of a Thruxton with high bars, and a std bonnie with Thruxton exhaust. Either approach would probbly work for me, but I think taking the std Bonnie and adding some Thrux parts would be the most practical for me. I'd be happy with a bike that turned out like either one.

Thanks everyone for your responses.
