Anybody have info on your Bonnie 790 using 904cc big bore kits? How far have you gone with all the other mods to get it to 85 rear wheel hp? If you have any photos, light 'em up.

Me!

Unfortunately, I haven't reached the 85hp mark yet. To do that I'm probably going to have to do a fair bit to the airflow through the head. Here's what I got on my dyno test.

If you like, I'll make a list of my mods for you - but I'll have to get back to you on that. Meanwhile, if you fancy a look at my workshop album you can find it HERE. There are a few sheets of more detailed dyno data there too. Also, if you're interested in an account of how the dyno went, I posted a thread about it (and the trip down there) HERE.

Hey Keef! When I talked with Brithish Customs, they went with a TON of mods, including cams and head replacement to get to 85hp, along with air box removal . Please fire over a list of your mods and I will be checking out that shop. Thanks for the input!!

Keef-you MUST show a picture of the finished bike, if she's done! I love the teardrops pipes! Great work! That's what an ENTHUSIAST looks like!!!

85 rwhp is going to take some effort from your wallet for sure.

I've done the following to mine.

BC 904 kit
BC Billet Intakes port matched to head
minor port work to head, basically just cleaned up.
BC Ecu
BC preds
BC Airbox elim
Ai elim

Dyno sheet below, note that the baseline test doesnt show the preds but SS headers with mega's. It also doesnt show the bb kit or the billet intakes.

I'm far and away from 85rwhp, but she's fun to ride. I plan to add carbs, and fiddle with the cams and head over the winter. I want to block off the ai port from the inside of the chamber, and possibly go with 1+mm valves.

I'd be glad to Brooksie. First, here's a list of my mods - I don't think I've left anything out (but then I haven't had my morning vat of coffee, so I can't be 100% sure).

MY MODS (so far):

• AI removal – two SV650 sump bolts, a nipple cap for the left intake manifold and a half inch rubber bung for the top left of the air box.
• Triumph tacho kit.
• Ally custom front master cylinder cover.
• Fabbri bandit fly screen.
• Drag bars followed by Norman Hyde M bars (up-side-down).
• TORS followed by Togas – mounted on home made ally hangers and with J C Witney type baffles (opened up for free flow by having a 10mm drift hammered down through the centre).
• Wiseco 904 Big Bore kit.
• NARK – air box cut down in situ (with a dremel), K&N pod filters added and carbs mounted on two s/s brackets.
• Carb mods – 42 pilots; 130 dyno-jet mains (equivalent to about 152 to 155 normal-type mains); Kawazaki GPz900 slide springs; thruxton needles; 6 shims.
• 18 tooth sprocket.
• New s/s link plate.
• Custom license plate (made to same width as rear fender)
• Magnetic oil drain bolt.
• Fork gaiters (BMW K75)
• Hagon progressive fork springs.
• Hagon Nitro shocks on rear.
• Goodridge s/s braded brake hose on the front.
• Metzeler Lasertec tyres – front: 100/90-19V, rear: 140/80VB17

Like SCCTrim, I think I'll be needing some head work done if I'm to reach the 85hp mark - some time later, I dare say.

Oh, and here's a couple of photos I took of it a few days ago up behind the house on Caldbeck Common.

Cheers pabonne.

Just looking again at the figures on my dyno data sheet in
my "workshop stuff" album, I noted the following stats -
Max torque = 64.2 lb/ft @ 5974 - 6039 rpm (95.4 - 96.4 mph)
Max HP (rear wheel) = 67.4 @ 6674 rpm (106 mph)
Max HP (crank) = 76.8 @ ditto

I certainly pulls well enough up there around the ton - but I still want more.

Thanks for the compliment bonne

Keef, How should I be interpreting your dyno sheet readings? The graph is somewhat confusing to me.

Dotted green line = RWHP base line (butt-dynoed - as I took it to the dyno booth, not as stock)
Dotted red line = lb/ft torque base line (ditto)

Solid green line = RWHP final run

Solid red line = lb/ft torque final run

X axis = rpm

Y axis = HP and lb/ft torque

SC,
I must confess there are one or two things about these results that perplex me too
- prime among being the non-adherence to the convention that, where HP and torque
are represented on the same scale, the HP and torque curves should cross at 5250rpm.
