Hi Guys,

Apologies in advance if these questions seem a little tedious.

I'm about to take ownership of a new T100 and various mods are playing away in my mind. To be honest I'm pretty inexperienced with regards to working on bikes so I having a bit of a mental debate on what to start modding.

I have taken delivery of the new bonneville AI removal kit and from the looks of it I reckon I can fit it without too many probs.

My issue lies with a new set of pipes. I'm currently looking at the Staintunes ( pea shooters ) or the TOR's. Now although Staintune say I don't need to modify the carbs, both members on this site and the jenks guide suggest the opposite. The staintunes don't come with different jets so:

How would I know which jets would work the best?
Do I also need new needles?
How do I know where to get this stuff from?

Time on a dyno is expensive round these parts and if I go down down the dyno route I don't want to have time wasted with the dyno guys changing the jets / needles over etc. I would really like to know the best set-up for these pipes before it goes on the dyno!

The TOR's however come with jets so I don't need to worry about trying to find the best carb set-up for the bike, I could just get my dealer to fit and tune them.

Any help appreciated

If you are already certain of the "best set-up", then you don't need the dyno. The dyno runs are to get the best set up for your bike and conditions. Bite the bullet for the cost of a few dyno runs, or just do it yourself in the garage with a bag of jets and patience.

The stock jets will be 110. TOR's come with 115. I am not sure if the Staintunes are more or less resrictive than TORs, but its a pretty safe assumption that your perfect set-up will be mains somewhere between 115 and 125. You already have a good needle and pilot from the factory.

Expat, I put Staintune reverse cones on my Bonnie and called Mike at Bellacorse,he set me up with the perfect jet/needle combo possible. Bike runs awsome. Mike and Brent have already done the research on what works with most mods.Call them....John

Thanks for your advice guys. I think I'll go with 120 or 125 jets and a free flow filter and see where that puts me. Next stop is the hardware store for a decent set of tools...

Mr Tommo,

I'm about your league in hardware fumbling. Here's what I did:

- Changed the handlebar ON MY OWN! Very proud.
- Changed the stock filter to a UNI filter and mounted a bellmouth from Normand Hyde ON MY OWN. Also very proud.
- Removed the AI equipment ON MY OWN! Extremely proud, but I didn't tighten the bolts properly.

Next, I had the garage mount TORs (I love them) and re-jet the bike. I didn't do this on my own, because I didn't feel secure enough, since I changed the main jets (to 125) and the pilots (to 42) AND added 2 shims under the needle, but I didn't know how to do that. These numbers come from the Jenk's bolts sheet.

No everything runs perfect, maybe a little lean, I'm not sure.
If someone can post pictures of how to re-jet, that would be great.

I love the TOR's because they keep the stock look of the bike, give it a real Triumph sound and are not rattletrap loud like some of the others (D&D). My 790 T100 went from 56hp stock to 62hp with the TOR's and a K&N filter letting the bike act like it was built to do. My dealer also drilled the slides out VERY SLIGHTLY but I couldn't tell you the spec on that. The AI was my first mod, too. You always remember your first one!

pat's site is for the speed master Would it be the same of an 02 bonnie? Same carbs ? same set up?
What would happen if I ran the bike with no silencers? and just adjusted the pilot out 3 turns. Could it hurt the bike? Would it run? I want to see what loud is and work back from there.
