I went to a Harley and Hot Rod show in my home town yesterday. It was a small show with about 30 Harleys and 60 Classic and hot rod cars. My neighbor who rides a Harley talked me into entering the show with my 2005 speedmaster which is mostly stock. I have added Epco Stainless exhaust and a small wind shield. I ended up with a top 5 plaque. All the Harley riders there were all very freindly and had lots of questions and compliments about the speedy. I was surprised that they all voted mine into the top 5. It was a great feeling. I couldn't be happier with the bike.

Speedy's rule!!!

well done buddy. I've just bought a 05 speedie (red) with 6000klm on her and practically new with long off road slash cuts and a summer screen. So I can understand your getting a prize cos heh, these babies are fantastic and to be honest, I reckon harleys are a tad over rated but each to their own. Here in Aus (takes a couple of years for the word to catch on), speedies aren't that common. Guess that's why I got mine for such a great price. Anyway, goodonya for giving it a go and good on the harley guys for paying respect for where it's due.

Awesome! Just shows you don't need a bike full of chrome to impress people. :-D

Yeah but if it was all Harley Riders... It doesn't take a lot to impress them...

I love the Epco's. I actually like louder pipes. For me I needed to remove the packing to achieve the sound level I wanted. Still not nearly as loud as many of the harleys I have heard but sounds great to me! They were fairly easy to install and look great on the bike.

Other Motorcycle: I'd love an old Vincent
what was involved in removing the packing?

There is an allen head bolt holding each baffle in. Remove the bolt, slide out the baffle. there is a piece of wire holding the packing on to the baffle. Remove the wire and the packing comes right off. When reinserting the baffles without the packing it is a little trickier to get them at the right spot, I used a broom handle inserted into the baffle to help guide the baffle back into place. It took me about 10 minutes total to do this.

I also rode around the block without the baffles. I did find that to be too loud. but with baffles in and no packing it's perfect for me.
