Anybody got input on British Customs 994cc big bore or Wiseco 988cc bore and stroke kits? Anyone had it done? They must put quite a strain on the other parts like the crank, etc.

I have been wondering about these kits too. Why does the Wiseco bore and stroke kit cost the same as the bore only kit? Is there something else that is needed? Wouldn't it be neccesary to change the crankshaft to increase the stroke of the engine? Wiseco web site is not much help. Or am I just missing something obvious?

THe BC 994 kit seems more straight forward with a new cylinder set. Costs a lot more too.

The Wiseco comes with new conn rods that are longer and pistons that have the wrist pins higher up the piston. The conn rods are going to be off-center of the wrist pins to account for the oversize bore, especially in the 994cc kit from BC. I wonder if the pistons have a tendency to crack in the long run because of the load on the pins being off- center?

The wiseco kit DOES NOT come with connecting rods...you'll have to have your crank stroked and pulling it means basically a total engine rebuild...$$$$$

the BC 994 kit requires splitting the cases, and machining them which also means engine rebuild...

how fast do you want to spend?

I think the logical (can I call it that?) approach is:

904 kit (wiseco or BC)
cams (BC or thunderbike)
carbs (ask Dinqua)
aftermarket CDI (BC)
port/polish heads
with all the exhaust and intake goodies, this package should make a solid 90rwhp, and probably 75ish ft-lbs at the wheel, and be quite the lively performer without having to do an engine rebuild, other than a top end job.

cost? hehe

and jojje gets 200 plus hp out of his turbo'd drag bike, I think the crank can handle 90 just fine.
