Hey Guys (and gals),
I just got back from a 900km day trip (dirty pics to follow) and was having problems with my cap venting (acutally not venting) went I got caught in a rain storm.

I know I read something on this before, but I'm too tired to find it.
Is there a fix to improve the venting in the stock cap?
Is there a better aftermarket cap?
Will Triumph replace clogged vent gas caps on warranty?

Thanks for the help. I'm going to bed...

I tossed my standard Thruxton petrol cap for the Monza variation. Apart from the great looks it works really well and I've had no venting problems. It can be a little tricky getting it to line up centrally on the tank.... Mine (from Jenks Bolts in England) came with clear instructions and I had no further installations problems when I eventually decided to read and follow them! (I must say reluctantly, and to my wife's considerable mirth) Suitable for the Scrambler? can't really say - I suppose it's really a Brit Caff Racer bit...

I saw a post on this, the vent line gets rain n it and pluggs up. How about cutting the end of the vent line at an angle (slash) to get water to run out instead of getting pulled into the hose?

How about taking the cap apart and cleaning it, all you need is some snap ring pliers. The line under the tank is not a vent, it is the over fill drain.

But...if the overfill line is working properly it is a VERY good vent. I rode mine for over a week with a make-shift gas cap that had NO vent and I had no problems in triple digit Wx.
