I turned over 4000 on the ole Black on the last trip and when I got home there was finally one thing that I just could no longer stand.
So I read all the threads I could about mods and improvements and marched boldly back out to the garage, took the bike for a quick 30 mile spin pulled into the garage, left it in idle, took a big breath )gulp)
...................................and reached down tentatively with my left hand and turned the idle knob down ONE AND SEVEN EIGHTHS TURNS!!! (I tried two turns but it ran 1.7456% slower than it should.
My first MOD!!!! :yayyy: :-D  :-D

You guys are so right and I feel so ashamed. After pontificating over and over again about how I leave my bike alone, and joking about everybody's mods shamelessly for months, here it turns out that I, a man of the cloth, am, alas, a sinner.
I am going up to the spare bedroom right now and dig around in the boxes and find that hairshirt and nine tail whip and do my penance.........................
I'm back. Found the shirt but I'm too fat to get into it anymore, and the whip is so old that all the nails in the ends are rusted away. So instead, I shall cut back on my Diet Cherry Coke from a case a day to a six pack. That will be so very hard, but, to my shame, I deserve it.
Monte
PS: Rod: that was the best zinger I have heard in a while! :-D
Mare: Move this thread if you must, but when I do something highly technical like this I felt I just had to report it, especially the scientifically verified detail that it is 1 7/8 turns, not 2 as is so commonly thought.

Go ahead, Monte. You know you've always wanted one. Just click on that photo. Everyone else does it. What's the harm in one little knob? Who would even know?
