Hello everyone,

I am looking for opinions on rearsets for my Bonneville T100. I have been looking at the ones offered on newbonneville.com and would like some real world opinions on the Norman Hyde rearsets vs. the LSL. Obviously, there is a difference in appearance and in that respect, I am leaning more towards the Norman Hydes.

Thanks in advance.

Chris

I have the NH ... and bought them from newbonnie (excellent service).

They're ok, but took me a few miles to get use to them. I had almost 4k mi on the stock ones. They're definitely an "old skool" look and feel. I would imagine the LSL's are a bit more comtemporary and percise.

I opted for the NH cause I wanted to the bike to stay on track with the old skool look.

That is my motivation for the Norman Hydes as well, the old school look.

I have Norman hyde and I love them. I know the "Sit up and beg" position is traditional, but I like the racer boy positon better. not quite as aggresive as a crotch rocket, so you could ride a long way with them.

I got the LSL rearsets instead of the NH because I liked the minimalist look - there is no more there than what you need to make it go. I have had them on since last winter, paired with the NewBonneville low cafe bars. At least for me, it makes a good setup. It is comfortable for 300+mile days but still handles really well. I just took the Mid-Ohio Raceway School course on advanced cornering. The other bikes were full sport bikes but the T100 was cornering just as well, or better, than the sporties. I was actually dragging the rearsets.

I have the LSL's on mine too and I am quite pleased. They are well made and I love the look. The only clearance issue I have found is my sidestand foot. It grinds in hard left handers. I think that is due to the rubber pad on my D&D pipes that puts it too far down.

If anyone is dissatisfied with either their LSL or NH rearsets, I will make the generous offer to buy them from you at a full 50% of the purchase price.

I want rear-sets in the worst way but just can't swing the $400 for retail...

Don't say "cheapskate", I prefer the term "value engineer".

How is installation; says basic hands on tools. Seems straight forward but are there any needed tricks?

With the LSL rearsets installation is straightforward. The master cylinder needs to be relocated, so the brake line will need to be loosened to do position this. This will require a rebleed of the rear brake. I also had to cut my right sidecover for the pushrod to clear. Again, no big deal. Very nice!!
