I recently rejetted my 2006 T100 to 130s and am now running straight pipes and a Unifilter.

I think it's a little rich. It's popping when I back off the throttle, after I crack it and in between shifts.

The Haynes manual seems to be of little help since it applies only to factory settings.

Can anyone recommend an air mix adjustment setting? How many turns from the factory settings should it be? I am also assuming that I need to rotate the screws left? (Also, I have a D tool)

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, I have no experience with the 865's. From what I have read, I would guess that your main jets are too rich and your pilot screw adjustment is too lean. I would try 2 to 2.5 turns out--turn them counter-clockwise--I guess that's left to some people. But, first turn them clockwise all the way closed--counting the number of turns so you have a starting point. Careful, don't tighten them enough to do damage--just till they stop. Then turn them out 2 turns and ride and see how it does. If that doesn't seem to be enough, turn them out more--I suggest 1/4 turn increments until you get the desired results. Remember, with straight pipes, you may not get rid of all the popping on overrun decel. As far as main jets, my guess would be closer to 122.5 or 125 for your situation.

Orangebonnie06: I too have minimal experience with the 865 motor, but recently helped rejet an 06 T100 for a friend. We got the best results using a stock airbox with snorkel removed, K&N filter, 122 mains, and stock pilots. The fuel screws started at about 3/4 turns open, and ended at 1 3/4 turns open. The main difference was Toga mufflers were used rather than straight pipes. We got rid of all the popping on decelleration, and good torque/hp all the way to the rev limiter. After everything was done, it still averaged 45 mpg on 87 octane gas with no pinging. I believe the needles are the same as the Thruxtons in the T100, and they required no shimming.

I agree with redbird, your mains are too big if you keep the stock airbox. Cheers, tommyturbo2

G'day,

I have togas, uni-filter, and AI-ectomy. 125 mains and 1 shim work fine. However the reccomended turns of the screws ended up making my bike's low end rich. Moreso on the left cylinder than the right.

Go to your friendly Triumph dealer and get them to put it on the sniffer to check the exaust emissions. If you bought your bike from them, and drop in from time to time, they will probably check gratis. My dealer did for me and we got it set to where it is supposed to be in about 10 minutes.

This is one of the main reasons to buy reasonably local. It is called service. :-D

Hope this helps.

I did a re-jet after I did all the other mods...Went with 118 jet due to baffle removal on the stock silencers...I only realized how good everything was after I synchronized the carbs...Do it last....Also, many feel shims on the Thrux needle aren't needed...I agree...mine ran too rich in the mid-throttle range with them so I removed them...
