Hello all.....I'm still trying to get my bike sorted out.

Can someone with a Thrux, or an 05 or 06 T-100 tell me what part number their igniter is?

I just had my igniter replaced under warranty, and it does not seem to be running as smooth as is did, plus my rev limiter kicks in at 7400 RPM. My guess is that the tech installed an igniter for a 790cc Bonnie.

Thanks

The igniter module is underneath the seat, mounted between the battery and the rear fender.

Also, the part number on my invoice is T1290041

Mark - I pulled my saddle and checked the igniter unit. My T100 is a 790cc, 2003 model. Here's how the igniter is marked:
1290041
(under that is printed)
ISS 10 (I think it's ISS, not 155) very small print
(under that is printed)
908MO F1

There's also a small box off the left side of the igniter that says "Gill" on it. It is marked as follows:
S/No 02110074

Regards,
Bob

Thanks guys!

Yup, it looks like a got a 790cc igniter....back to the dealer on Tuesday....

I bet I need the T1292360 igniter....

*****, it took 10 days for them pick-up my bike, plus another 8 days in the shop....only for them to put the wrong part on.

This again goes to show how valuble this forum is, how much the service manual helped, and how it pays to know your bike, and how much dealers suck....

Sounds like your "tech" is an idiot. He could have easily looked up the part # himself and got it right.

Sort of off subject but my dealer gets out the parts book & looks at the pictures & asks me if this is what I wanted. (Center stand? Chrome tappet cover? Tall sissy bar? Servicer manual?) Same pictures that are on the Triumph Web site. Sad.
I put a ProCom CDI box on mine T100. It has a higher rev limit. 8500 I think? I hope someone comes out with an after market pick up coil. I am going to get the after market high voltage coils next. At least I can use the factory junk as a back up.
Also using after market brake pads.

Well I also had the igniter on my 05 865cc T100 changed about a week ago. It's partnumber T1290041 - same as Panthermarks. Can someone with an 865cc T100 confirm their partnumber (it's under the seat)? I bet I'll have to get mine swapped out for the T1292360 also and my dealer is two hours away - $hit.

I'm a little surprised that the dealers would put 790 igniters on the 865's (must have had one lying around). The retail cost is $100 more for the 790 igniters--at least that is the prices I got from my dealer's parts department. I was checking into running a 865 igniter on my 790 to get the higher rev limiter. When the mechanic called, Triumph said not to swap the igniters between the two size motors except just to trouble-shoot a problem and to replace with the proper igniter.

CedarCreek,
Is your rev limiter kicking in early now.....at 7400 RPM's instead of 8000? If so, you probably have the wrong one.

I don't know what the "special" is.....

Pantermark - I haven't taken it to the rev limit - will try that but I'm sure it is the same as your's given that we have the same part number. I would like for someone to confirm their T100 865cc igniter box part number (please) so I know exactly what to tell the dealer to use. Sadly, that seems to be the only way to be sure to get the right part. Thanks.
