Got mine the other day, very easy to fit, and looks good. But the instruction sheet says max load is 2.5kg, or around 5lbs. I find that hard to believe since its made of welded steel tubing. Anyone else used one of these?

It's also 'arse covering' by Rentec, the more weight you put out there on your rack the more it affects the handling. I have one on my Scrambler, it does get a bit wobbly over 80 with a heavy load.
I agree with another poster. When we rode our Bonnies out west earlier this year, I mounted the RennTech rack, and strapped tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, pack (fishing) rod, and camping chair to the rack. Total weight was probably 15-17 pounds (+-). No problems, for the entire 5000 miles. Also had a duffel bag riding on the passenger area of the stock seat ... another 35-40 pounds.
I had installed Progressive heavy duty 440 shocks, which took care of the extra load (also temporarily mounted Givi E21 bags for t-shirts, blue jeans, etc)
Loaded her up like a Beemer!
