What the ????

Apparently this heading was offensive to some poeple. If you're one of the few, who don't care for your headers turning blue/purple/gold, I started another thread on the twins hangout, "So here she is yall".

I like the look....now severral questions....

Did they ceramic coat the used headers, or did you have to supply a new, un-used set, free of any internal exhaust deposits(carbon) to have the coated?

Who did the ceramic coating?

What was the turn around time to get them done?

How much did the coating cost?

Thanks :-D

Hey kliff,

The coating on the header pipes is done by British Customs.

They have a core exchange program. Because I ordered them thru my dealer, there was a pair waiting for me when I took my bike in to get them installed. Now the dealer turns in my pipes to be processed and coated. No deposit, waiting or even shipping charges were required. Pretty cool service (IMO) for $199.

You can e-mail Sean at their contact address listed. I originally e-mailed him on a weekend to ask the same kinda of questions. He picked up the phone and called me at home within ten minutes!

SCCTrim,

Oh man, they look even better on your black bonnie. And they'll look just as good as they do now, virtually forever! SWEET

Jet Hot is another good source for ceramic coatings. They did mine after they had been on the bike for several years. 3 years later, they still look great. Jet Hot had a 5 day turnaround at the time.

Looking good, road_dog! I'm not much a fan of reverse cones; however, I like the looks on your bike. I've had black ceramic headers and NH Togas (black ceramic also) for nearly 2 years.

Thanks Larry,

I must admit that the claim of a 12hp increase is what lured me into the reverse cone Staintunes. Plus I kinda like the look of them along with the solo seat I have on.

Also, I kinda think they smooth out some of the original "kink" in the transition between the pipes and the mufflers. That may even be part of the reason for such a heafty increase in the hp.

Kinda has a Bonnie-Thruxton hybrid look, I think. No?

yo, road_dog,
Thanks man....that "zero" turn around time is REALLY tempting. I appreciate the info.
