There is a thread at BA about this. I bought 3 of them for the turn indicator, neutural indicator and oil pressure indicator. You want em brighter? Try 10 times as bright ! really, they're unreal. In bright sun there as easy to see as the regular bulbs in darkness, no kidding. Each on is a cluster of 6 tiny LEDs that have the same connector end as the bulbs, so they're plug and play. Well, all except the turn signal which needs a couple diodes and some wiring done. But if you're at all handy with an iron it's simple. Don't let the instructions posted at BA scare you off.......it's easier than it sounds and the comment about polarity is not true. i found they are NOt polorized. Why i'm not sure because LEDs ARE polorized, but i think it's done internally in the the cluster. It was said the turn signal bulb must be inserted correctly, but i tried it with a 12 volt DC supply and they lit up either way. they cost me about $15 and worth every penny. you only need 3 since the other one is the high beams which you really only need to see at nite when a regular bulb is fine. Plus someone tried it and said it was too bright at nite.

Anyway, if anyone want to do this let me know and i'll write up a description on how to wire up the turn signal diodes. the wires have to be cut to do this so you'll need to do some soldering and get some heat shrink tubing or at least electical tape. And since the instrument panel can easily be removed and unplugged you can take it in the house and do it all there. trust me, it's a must do.

I wouldn't mind doing it for the turn indicator. I can't see that thing at all and there are times when I still catch myself riding with the signal on (embarrassing). Seeing as it's been too dern hot to ride here in VA I'd settle for some down time to mod some simple items. :-D

How about a good, clear, digital photo of the underside fo the console with the diodes installed? I'm still a big confused and/or stupid!

Al, you read the thread at BA didn't you? Now it seems you don't even need to do the wiring ! Someone just popped it in and the signals and indicator all work fine. If you buy them and they don't work i'll try and write up a detailed ddescription and some drawings, but the whole thing is all heat shrinked up so you can't see anything about how it's done by looking at it. Just buy them and pop em in and it should work fine. but if for some reason it doesn't let me know and i;ll certainly be happy to help.

Daz, thanks for the heads-up. I just placed my order.
It was getting to be a bear seeing the indicators in the summer sun.

Good move kevin. You will love it. I think anyone who saw the way these things look would buy them in a nanosecond even at twice the price. I wish i'd done this the day i got the bike !

Thanks Daz
I had looked at the website for those LED about a month ago and have them listed on my
"Things to do to my America" list.

Glad to hear you like them so much...
I have put in the turn signal / running light module,
which I love by the way!
(keeps me from being such an old
dork riding down the road with the blinkers on)
but you still can't see the lights in the daytime.

I'm placing my order tonight and will be right
there with ss, yelling for help if I can't figure it out.

Man - I love this bike. But I think I'm going to have
go get another job to pay for all the upgrades I want.
(I have Triumph taste on a bicycle budget)

LED's went in easy and did not need any diodes, they look great.

Glad you like em. I'm still thrilled every time i look to see if they're on and i can actually tell ! I did the diodes, but after speaking with a tech at the company that makes the signal minder i'm glad i did because they not only told me i could use LED turn signals with the minder w/o adding load resistors, but that i should install diodes at the indicators or it won't work ! So i unknowingly installed the diodes i would need to use LED signals which i've been wanting to do for a long time. i even showed him the schematic and he said that should work fine. That is, if i can find ones that fit my requirments as far as look and size.
