I got the cortech sport bike bags with large bag that sits on the seat many times I just use the seat bag alone.Works best with a solo seat but the seat bag sits fine on the stock speedy seat. :-D

Accessories International Saddleman Large Drifters
Cheapest place for Saddleman bags I've found. You can also gete them in Jumbo size, lots of guys run those for more room. These are the Large:

Just placed an order today with West End Motorsports for a set of Saddlemen Drifter Large saddlebags and Easy Brackets. Total cost of bag and brackets $283.50 ... shipping was free. All in all - very competitive. The guys at WEM were extremely efficient and helpful. Everything should arrive in a few days, so I'll let you know how I get on.

I went with the regular drifters and not the slanted bags as I have things like laptops etc. that I want to carry on the commute to work. They hold a little more than the slanted bags and there are no angles to "fight" with the laptop.

I feel your pain, Joe! I'm on the horns of the same dilemma. Mines a 2005 speed master with the short backrest. Of course my wife has to have something large enough to stash her hat for bad cases of "helmet head". I'm thinking of adding a sissy bar bag as well.

Thanks Paul. It would seem that there could be a few more choices in saddlebags for this bike. I mean ones that are ment to go with this bike not aftermarket ones. The Triumph bags are just to small for my needs. I may retrofit something soon if I don't find anything I like :???:

... okay, just finished fitting the brackets/bags and rode the 9 miles to my partners house.

The brackets themselves seem well engineered, although the price of $150 does seem a little high once you see what you get for your money. None the less, they work well and fitting them was relatively straight forward.

The trickiest part (slight exageration) was lining the brackets up on the bags and marking for drilling. You don't want any mistakes here as being just a little out makes re-siting the bolt holes nigh on impossible. You also want to make sure the bags are the same height and seated symetrically on both sides of the bike.

Having completed the job, the bags look great and fit nicely on the bike. Given the clearances post fitment, it looks as though I could have gone bigger with the bags. Also, if I did it all again, I might have gone with the slanted bags as the front corner of my "square" bags just fouls the springs when they are loaded - not in a problematic way, but the slanters might have avoided this.

All in all a good choice and a good job. Also, having spent only $120 on the bags themselves, I would not be too miffed at replacing them with bigger, better quality bags in the future.

I have taken some pictures both during and after the installation and will have these posted tomorrow.
