After my ride in the rain today ... I wondered what you guys are doing in terms of cleaner/treatment for your visor and or mirrors??

No fog on the inside of my visor (good job Scorpion!) but the rain collected horribly on the outside.

Mirrors fogged over pretty easily too ...

Are people using something to treat their visors/mirrors to reduce (dare I say eliminate) beeding and fog?

I use my left hand to wipe away the rain as I ride along. It is not very efficient but it gets some of the water off.

If I didn't think that we are all so very sincere on this forum, I would assume you were taking the p*ss with that answer Mag10

I too used my left hand to wipe the water away ... but that's also what I had to do in the late '80s ... have things really not changed since then!!

Isn't there that RainX product or something that makes water just beed-off surfaces :???:

I'm off to Google it ...

This is the stuff I was thinking of ... anyone tried it? Trying to find out if it is safe to use on a visor ...

Rain-X

Okay ... quick bit of Googling and it seems that the concensus on using Rain-X on visors is that it is not stated as safe on the bottle but many people have been doing it (two or more years) with no problems and good results.

Google also threw-up Plexus ... a plastic polish ... that is reccommended for any plastic surface, including visors and eyewear ... More info on Plexus can be found HERE.

Others have simply used car polish on their visor too to great effect. Causes the water to beed right-up and just slide off the visor.

Not a big deal ... I don't plan on riding in the rain much ... but I wouldn't want to struggle like I did this morning again ...

I'm gonna get some to stick in my bag for emergency use !!

Over here we get tropical downpours between droughts and I am never prepared. The outside of my visor and sunnies gets mushy and the inside steams up.

Not good when you are on the motorway and are reduced to traveling at 60kph when the big trucks are doing 120kph.

Good idea Binnsy ... we don't want you being run-down down under, do we

Like I said, I don't plan on riding in the rain much ... but I'm gonna try one of these products and let you know how I get on.

The Plexus looks like it'll be good for all sorts of things so that may be first-up. ;-)

:hammer: rain-ex works pretty good. they have more than 1 type, so make sure you get the one for plastic, rather than the one for auto glass

Use plain ol' RainX for the outside (great stuff for cars too) and Fog-X on the inside. Both work great but can get a bit streaky if you don't apply it right.

I just turn my head slightly left or right and all the drops blow right off.
