We still need to get together sometime. It looks like there's a VME week after next. Do you ever go to these? The one in Seattle has a large turnout of old bikes. Actually, last summer, my bonnie was a hit when I showed up and drew a nice crowd. Maybe I could ride down and take a look at your Corbin?
7/20 VME South Sound Meeting
Meeting of the South Sound Chapter of Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts. Bring your old bike. 7pm @ Guadalajara, 110 Tacoma Ave N, Tacoma
The one in Seattle is usually going strong by 5 PM. Their meeting doesn't start until 7.

Hey there Sport,
The Scrambler arrived at the dealer, so I sat on one to check it out and was pretty impressed by how much better the seat felt, so I asked if they had any of the solos in stock and they did, put it together and checked it out on the bike, everyone at the dealer agreed it had a whole different look for the bike, so I took it home. I saw that it had the same holes, where it looked like a thruxton cowl would hook up with no problems, so I checked that out at the dealer as well before I left. Found a cowl on Ebay for 80 bucks, and had it all painted up just like you see here.
1500 miles on the Scrambler seat now, and I couldnt be more happy with it.

Nathan, again ,they look made for each other. So the rack portion of the seat is under the cowl still? Covered storage space? The stripes look awesome. Did you do your helmet to match?

Thanks, unfortunately, the rack dont fit under the cowl, its just sitting in the garage for now. There is still space to put something under there though. Its just the plastic rest of the seat pan. Would have to get the allen wrench out of the side cover or just carry a spare to take the cowl off and put something under there if I was going to use the space.

Cobra,
wanna sell that rack?
I made a solo saddle, then covered the rest of the seat pan with some Black truck-bed liner. I can't find a simple luggage rack that'll fit...... but your's would.
Wanna sell it to a guy born in Albuquerque? I didn't live there long enough to appreciate it, but returned to the top of Sandia as my first motorcycle ride outa California (over 30 years ago).
:-D

Well your parents were smart to get you out of Albuquerque, hehe. I would live over there where you are in CA, if one, the AF would send me over there, and two, I could afford it. Unfortunately, there are no active duty
C-130 bases out there.
As for the rack, I am not going to sell, just cause I like to have the option to put the seat rack back on. Maybe the dealer can get the parts individually, but I doubt it, that would take some work on Triumphs part, to make their parts system something that resembles everyone else's.

..... hadda try though. You're smart for keeping it.
Yeah, it was the Air Force that got us to New Mexico. I was born on Sandia Army Base, my buddy was too.... so we rode there. HEY, it was a destination! His Electra Glide (the very first 80" offered) had to be run on STP back to California.
Dad was a B-52 pilot, mom a diet pill junkie. I would be an ORIGINAL son of a "meth freak" in a "absent father household." Mom & Dad were smokers at the time too, might be why I'm a 5' 2" runt in the family.
Gonna use that seat for a seat cowl anyway. Just attempting to expand my options. Don't let your family suffer at the expense of a career in the Air Force....... or some'n like that.

I think Sandia Army base is just the East side of what is now Kirtland AFB ( I think anyway, I have heard a story about that).
AF got in the way of my first marriage (everyone has to have the practice wife anyway dont they?), ***** it Somilia, Bosnia/Kosovo, Haiti, and every other ***** hole in between, hehe.
Here in ABQ, I have a pretty stable life, no deployments or anything like that, get to come home everynight, and see the kid get to grow up, for atleast his first 4 years.
Sorry about the rack, but like I said I would ask the dealer if they can get em without buying the whole seat, its worth a shot anyway!
