does anyone have a soundfile (or point me to a site that does) of the Staintune exhaust slip ons installed on a T100. I referring to the retro looking pipes, not the others. Just wanting to hear a couple of notes before I plop down the $ 700.00.

Get the D&D's! I had the Togas-they looked and sounded good, but not loud enough. For $499 (I think) you can have the baddest pipes around.

player,
I have the staintunes on my 03 Bonnie ,sound great, nice and throaty and made of stainless (never rust). My neighbor has D&D,s they are obnoxiosly loud. You may be able to baffle them some how though.Depends what your after,I guess.
The staintunes come witha removable baffle which takes about 20 sec. to put in or out too.

I have the D&D's, sound is right about what I wanted. Staintunes still sound really quiet to me, not much more then stock pipes with the rear baffles pulled out.

When all is said and done, i want the nice throaty sound but i'm looking to avoid the obnoxious loud level. Do i have the option of putting the baffles back in on the Staintunes if i feel their to loud without?

All I can say is that I've got the Staintunes and they're just the right amount of loud. They are significantly louder than stock, which sound very tame, but they are not over the top. Just a nice throaty sound that fits perfectly with the look of the bike. Plus, they are great quality. D&D's are great but very loud. I'd hate to start my bike up on a Saturday morning with those on. All the neighbors would HATE me.

I have D&Ds as well and YES, they are loud. The first time I went for a short ride with a half-helmet (I know, I Know, my main helmet isa Shoei RF-1000...) I was like, $hit, these babies are loud. You may experience sould guilt near small children and pets (or both in my experience) if you are not a fan of noise.
They do ok at lower revs but just know that they will absolutely scream at higher revs.
On a side note, if you get them, make sure you get the newer versions with the single-plated bracket mount. Mine had a triangle-shaped mount and I have already had one replaced from rusting and the second one rusted as well. The rust would develop on the welds inside of the triangle making it VERY hard to treat or resolve.
I have emailed and emailed and emailed D&D, BEGGING them to contact me about this problem and NO ONE will respond to me. In fact, just recently I asked them if having the pipes ceramic coated black would resolve the issue.
Have I heard from them? Nope. Unless they REALLY step up to the plate on these pipes, I will never give them one more cent and will be more than willing to tell my story to all.
sorry for the rant but it is good advice.
