After installing the NARK, and adding the pod filters, I have been thinking about how great the bike would look without the side panels. Has anyone done the work to move some of the things that these panel cover to allow their removal? I think I saw some pictures a little while ago of some German Thruxs that had done some creative hiding of the battery box etc.

I took mine off and have just left the stuff under them hanging there. I like to see all the "stuff." I also took off the seat cowl.

I am thinking of cutting out the part on the side covers that is over the K&N pods and painting the covers flat black. I've seen pics on this site of cut-out side panels and it looks good.

When you eliminate the air box, it frees up space (and requires you) to mount a filter for each carb. These are what I called the pod filters. With the airbox installed, the carbs are connected to a single chamber with one large filter.

There are some photos of a Thrux on this thread:Modded Thruxtons where some great work has been done, including moving the battery!
