Interchangable seats

I've read on a few threads on here about the seats being interchangable between the twins. So ideally I want to put a thruxton gel seat on my bonnie, but here's my question: how does the thruxton seat cowl attach? Sorry I'm sure this is a newbie question.

Seats from pre-EFi bikes are not compatible with EFi bikes due to clearance on the underside for some of the electrical components.
The Thruxton hump as a lip on the rear which hooks under the seat and two allen headed bolts on the forward edge of the hump which engage in threaded holes in the side of the seat.
I have a Scrambler gel seat on my Thruxton which I use for 2 up riding simply swapping it over with my standard humped Thruxton seat.

Oh, gotcha so as long as I get a non EFI thruxton seat I should be good then. Thanks for the info.

Well if your bike's a carby (which I'm assuming it is if you're talking non-EFi) you can use any seat I believe,if you use an EFi one you will just have a little more clearance under it.

Oh gotcha, and yes mine's carb'd. Would having that little bit of clearance help me in any way for future modding or anything?

Maybe, although I don't know what you could fit in the area, it's only a small area not the complete underseat area.

Thanks for that pic peejay, that helps me visualize it a little. I think I'm pretty sold on this seat now, thanks for all the input guys.
