Output Shaft Seal Number?

I plan on replacing a leaking output shaft oil seal, the seal behind the front sprocket, and know it is Triumph part number T3600068.

but rather than pay a brazzilion dollars at the dealer for one, does anyone know the SKF / CR seal equivalent no. so I can get one at the local bearing shop?

according to the Triumph parts manual the seal measures od=62, id=40, width=6

Can't find it on the SKF site but on this post they say there's a Honda equivalent:

In the parts list description they add after the size: CLOCKWISE, this is probably important when seeking an equivalent as it refers to the direction of rotation of the output shaft.

yes, I saw that clockwise comment on the parts description. first time I have been aware of a direction specific oil seal

the SKF website is a bit of a pain when looking up seal numbers. unfortunately they bought out CR seals a few years ago and shut down the CR site that was very easy to navigate.

had a look at Timken and they specify a standard seal 40x62x7V
V being viton and the seal being 7mm width that should work ok, will give the bearing shop a ring today to see how readily available it is

I just changed this seal before the Holidays. Install was straight forward. In my case I couldn't see any reason the original seal should fail. The transmission output shaft was clean, and smooth and the original seal looked good too, it's a mystery!? Anyway I'd be interested in keeping a spare if you find an alternative since mine started leaking at 10K miles.

BTW-I used the Triumph part. $8.50 (+ $7.00 shipping from B.Bandit) and it took nearly two weeks to arrive

(Not trying to start a Triumph parts logistics rant but my nearest dealer is 150 miles away and they usually have to order these sorts of parts. Thank goodness for the interweb, but IMHO this sort of part should be kept in stock by dealers)
