Tune ecu help

Hello all
I've downloaded tune ecu version 2.4 which I intend to use on my2011 thruxton. I purchased a cable and installed driver, but when connecting it comes up with a error message"ecu not responding check cable connection"
Any ideas ?

Some cables at the cheaper end of the market give no end of trouble. It must be a reasonable quality cable with a genuine FTDI chipset.

Well it turns out i got sent one of the dodgy chinese ones. a Nanjing Qinheng Electronics USB-Serial adapter, type CH-340 or HL-340
