After a few weeks of reading about various mods, I carried out a couple:

Disable AI - made a little difference to the mpg etc

Removed the snorkel - huge difference, makes it sound a bit throatier when accelerating and a bit quicker I think.

I was wondering if there were any other simple mods I may have missed that can make a difference to the performance?

Remove your muffler baffles and bump the mains to 115.

Change out your headlight for a Hella unit.

Replace your tires with Pirelli sport demons.

Clean and lube your chain ever 400-500 miles.

Remove your breather hose from your airbox and run a breather filter.

Look in the stickys, there's a host of different mods, many with step by step instructions and photos by members that know what they're talking about.

17 tooth countershaft sprocket. Unless you run flat out and want top end speed, a 17t is an all-round winner. Big boost in low/midrange acceleration.

Easy13 - thats quite a good one

Bron-Yr-Aur

Handle bars - change the look and comfort level
Mirrors - IMO a much-needed change to the look of the bike
Turn signals
Tail light

I'd set my my $ limits a little higher, though. Suspension could use help and dwells more in the domain of safety than just looks. You don't have to spend a lot to make it better, but more than $50.

Get rid of the air box baffle - a couple of hours work if you take it steady, but it's free. You'll need to re-jet though (so, I guess it's not quite free, but is cheap).

Mr Beaver. Are you looking for performance mods or otherwise ?
If it's performance the first thing you need to do is fit open exhausts. There's plenty you can do on the intake side for little or no outlay but you're not going to gain much benefit with the highly restricted stockers.
Open pipes, no AI, snorkel, air box baffle removal and bigger main jets should give you another 10 bhp at the rear wheel. That's good bang for buck.
