So you thought you had a 2 year warranty! Shame about the battery, exhasut things to do with comfort!!
According to the trade practices act you are not compelled to use the manufactures dealer (this is in Aus). However any warranty work must be carried out by the dealer. The use of any non oem parts can void warranty. Oils, filters, pads maybe even different size tyres.
So if you have an accredited dealer near by, trade qualified mechs and want to use them make sure you stipulate only original parts to be used.

Whilst perusing it seems that some of the larger non manufacturer service centres actually ask if the vehicle is under warranty and will use only oem bits and bobs.
