Hello, I've fitted some western bars on my scrambler, as as a result have fitted a new clutch cable from an America...........I also thought that I was going to fit some new throttle cables from the same, but have hit a problem........the fixings are different. My bike is a 2008 EFI scrambler, and the cable from the America are also EFI. I'll attach some pictures to show the differences......I'll add the America part numbers later, as they are in the garage. Has anyone fitted longer throttle cables to an EFI bike?, I presume that I'm going to have to change the throttle actuator?

The Bonnie, America and Speedmaster have a combined throttle/brake housing where as the Scrambler and Thruxton have separate throttle and brake housings, this is where the difference is. It may be worth re-routing the throttle cable across the top of the engine and to the right side of the headstock and see if that gives enough extra length in the cables. Good luck.

and I suppose the added bonus is that they will only fit 1" bars?

Give Barnett a call; they will make you anything you need and will know exactly what to build if you tell them what you are doing/using.

EDIT: Oops, just noticed you are in UK so Barnett is probably not a good option

Same advice but use Venhill engineering, Dorking , Surrey. You may have to send them the old cables with instructions for how much longer you need them. They will make up any new cables and hoses you need. Check their website they may have these cables already on their list in which case just specify the length you need.
