Thruxton bar end mirror dimensions.

I am in the process of switching my 2010 Thruxton over to the earlier top yoke and clip ons. I want to use my 2010 bar end mirrors, but obviously they won't work with the solid aluminum clip ons. Rather than cut the mirrors to make them work, I was thinking of machining the bars so that I can switch back if wanted.

Does anyone know the internal diameter of the 1" Thruxton bars where the mirror inserts, so that I can buy the right drill bit? Has anyone done this before? It doesn't look to complex to make work.

Thanks in advance.
Alastair

I think the earlier clip-ons are 7/8" and your 2010 bars are 1".
You will have to get some 1" clip-ons so all your controls will fit. Then you can drill them to the right size.

You are correct in the outside dims but that is nothing a bit of aluminium tubing can't fix to bring it to spec. I am wanting to use the proper Thruxton clip ons which I already have rather than go aftermarket.
Cheers

Anyone? This is holding me up, and with these large drill bits at $25 a pop, I want to get the correct size first time!
Thanks!
