For the sidestand switch just carry a spare paper clip with you. It can be disabled very easily as explained on this thread. Scroll down to the 5th photo:

The EFI bikes like yours have a completely different ignition coil made by TEC in Japan and so far I haven't read about any failures. If you insist on getting a spare one this advice about alternative, cheaper sources might help:

The mod recommended by me in post 4 can get you out of several non-start situations, not just those due to a low battery. It'll help in the following scenarios:

* If "start" button or its wiring are defective.

* If starter relay operating coil is open circuit or its supply is interrupted somehow (broken wire, bad ground, etc).

* On EFI bikes the ECU can inhibit operation of this relay because of low battery voltage. Pressing the relay button will force the engine to start.

* If the relay contacts have become stuck or welded together and the starter operates continuously regardless of the operation of the start button. This is a fairly common fault, we've had a few here. Repeatedly pressing the relay button might well "jog" the contacts apart.

* The engine can be started even if ANY of the safety interlocks fail: The clutch, sidestand or the neutral switches.
This is of course a great feature, but be warned to ensure gearbox is in neutral before pressing the switch.
The engine will start even if the sidestand is down and there's no need to pull in the clutch either.

Jeez you guys carry a spare ignitor and pickup coil when traveling? That's roughly $300-400 in parts to carry around just in case. I guess, I should replace my stocker with a Procom unit and keep the stocker as a spare.

I was thinking of solving any potential pickup coil issues simply by regapping to 0.8.

That amount of money is nothing compared to a wrecker and a shop bill. Thanks Forchetto, that wiring diagram you posted in another thread is printed and will come with me.
