Knocking sound whilst braking

Hello all
Been experiencing knocking noise whilst braking hard.
Not a once off per braking application, but a continual knock whilst braking.
It's like it may be the disc moving on the washers as mine has a floating disc.
Anyone else experienced this?

Hi
Have checked caliper bolts & slides all nice and secure.
It's like pad knock but anti rattle retainer is in place

remove your front sprocket cover, check the nut. It maybe loose. At least, that was my experience

Check the clearance between the caliper bolts and the disc. My last service the techos were a bit concerned about the clearance on my America, and removed the bolts and ground them down !

Have you checked the Disc....Inspect closely it may be some Crud! in one of the holes in the disc inspect for any imperfections like a crack spin the wheel and see if the disc is warped or any of the above........

Hi thanks for all your replies thus far
I have inspected closely for clearance, the noise only appears once the brakes have been heat cycled several times.Once brake temp is up,it only occurs under heavy braking.Ive checked disc once up to temp and have found a fair bit of movement between disc and inner section.
I suppose the rivets have worn on the disc

I put an EBC floating disc on the front of my T100 and it makes a bit of noise...but not a knocking sound. Its more insectoid...like cicadas. Maybe its a fork issue. Check your preload adjusters and your fork oil levels.

is it def a knocking?
could be just where the holes in disc connect with brake pad when braking

Mine does it when on the brakes over bumps. Not all the time and usally around town, can't say that I've noticed it at speed. Not sure if it's the brake or the forks. Was doing it the other day on the way home from work, said to myself that I'll check that out this weekend, but the other bike needs new tyres fitted 1st.
