Tramlining, is when your tire wants to fallow the pavement groves.
Tires that have stright center groves, seem to be the worst offenders.

Yes, the roads in LA do kinda suck but you get used to them pretty quickly. Black asphalt and white concrete feel pretty much the same, more or less, kinda.

All bets are off once it starts to drizzle...which isn't very often, but...

My main issue is with the oil coming to the surface just as it starts to rain. Well, that and people on their cell phones, texting away while doing 70 on the 101.

70 on the 101, which has a speed limit of 55. for a reason

just like the 110, which i beleive they lowered the speed limit to 45mph north of downtown, that freeway is bananas

Love the 110 on a Sunday mornings... no traffic.

Nobody has time to read the posted speed limit signs in LA. That would mean taking their attention away from their cell phones.

Riding on any highly trafficked road shortly after its started raining is dangerous everywhere, but even more so in places like SoCal that receive so little rain. If you can, waiting it out for 15-30 minutes allows time for most of the oil to wash off the roadway.
