Arrow 2-2 exhaust system baffles

I just got a 2013 Thurxton last week with Arrow 2-2 system installed. The dealer took out the baffles for me as they thought it was too quiet with the baffles in.

Both my wife and myself feel the Arrow system is too loud...and I am thinking to put the baffles back in. Can any one tell me how quiet is it with the baffles in? Stock quiet?

Have any one drill holes on the baffles to make it a bit louder?

Also when I install the baffles... Do I need to remove the outer end caps? Mine baffles don't seem to drop in easy as look.

No, you don't need to remove the end caps. The baffles just push in and are held in place by a spring clip.

I found that the baffles do have a significant, negative, impact on performance - to my eyes they are an afterthought that was never actually intended to be fitted. Others have made modified version of the baffle - here's a link to one of the threads...

I would ride the bike for a bit without the baffles as there is a good chance the sound will grow on you.

Thanks for the link...good information. I liked the sound with the baffles out, but the wife didn't. After she pointed out..I do feel it is a little too loud if I want to go ride in the weekend early morning.

I find that you can regulate the noise coming out of the arrow pipes quite well with the throttle - just take it easy 'till you get out of town then let 'er rip! I hate to point out the obvious, but the fact your wife thinks it's too loud (like mine) and therefore won't want to come out on the bike, may be a bonus

Hear what you said, but won't work for me
I drilled 4 half inch holes by the end seal cap on the baffles last night. When reinstall them, the right side one slide in with little force but had to use a rubber hummer to get the left side one in. It is in there good now. But how do I remove it in the future?

You might find the baffles have a sweet spot and need to rotate them to find at which point they can easily be removed. When I was trying mine out (prior to fitting the AR1005db type baffle) I marked the visible end at the 12o'clock position with black ink then rotated it through 180* to stop it rattling.

Failing that a metal coat hanger with the end bent just past 90* to act like a barb which you slip inside the baffle tube and then into one of its internal holes and then use it to extract the baffle using brute force.

The Arrow with the supplied baffles in is hopeless, and the bike seems lost hp. I have emailed the website who sells the 1005db baffles, and waiting for their response before I can order.

However, it is hopeless to get the baffle out now... I tried turning it and use a cost hanger to hook it then use a rod to pull....the baffles might have moved 1/16". I am so screwed.

I was in the same position you are in. The left side baffle was stuck and wouldn't budge. I ended up clamping a locking pliers on the end of the baffle and sliding a screw driver through a hole on the pliers. Then I took a hammer to the screw driver and finally got it out.
The pliers definitely marked up the end of the baffle but I wasn't planning on using them anyway.

It may become my only option once I confirm the 1005DB baffles are still available. I don't like the standard baffles, they reduce the hp too much.
