For my non-laquered alloy engine casings I use Poorboys paste carnuba wax (the white one), I get a lovely smell of coconut when she is warming up after application lol

Just FYI Windex contains ammonia & alcohol. If you want to wipe your bike, car paint etc with a cleaner that contains ammonia go nuts. I'd never use it on any of my customers vehicles. It's not even recommended for window tint.

I asked this same question the other week for my matte black Storm. A couple of suggestions that were mentioned we're;
1/ wash with car soap and water
2/ put a cold wet cloth on bugs, bird poop, etc and let it soak for a few minutes. This softens it and allows you to simply wipe of.
3/ pat dry with a soft towel after rinsing of with cold water.
4/ WD40 (I haven't done this one yet... Not sure if I would)
Hope these help you. I do the first 3 above tips and so far so good. The second one for bugs, poop, etc is important to use COLD water. Hot water 'cooks' it and will leave marks.

Vespa to the Storm!

any regular vehicle soap should be fine, just avoid the ones that have wax in them. They might give your paint a temporary non-matte shine. As has been said, I would not scrub bug splats, scrubbing can polish your paint, and leave a permanent shinier spot. Instead, soak the bugs until they soften up. A motorsport degreaser can be used on tougher bugs, as long as it doesn't say that it shouldn't be used on painted parts. I would try to find a wax made for matte paints that has UV blocker in it. Without UV blocker, there is no point in waxing matte paint.
