Seeking Advice on Winterization on T100

Hello All - My '09 T100 (efi) turned 12k miles today. What I'm trying to do is decide whether it makes more sense to do the recommended service (especially the oil change) now or early next Spring. My bike since new has been kept outside 24/7 covered every day.

I do ride in the Winter weather permitting but don't expect to add more than another 200 miles or so if that. So - any advantages either way? Your thoughts are welcome.

Thanks, Joe

I would do the oil change now. Get all the bad solids and corrosive residues out of there so they don't settle and make sludge in the bottom of the engine. If it's going to take a month or two to run a tank of gas through, it would help to top it up and put some stabilizer in the fuel. With or without stabilizer, a full tank of fuel lasts longer than a partial tank.

I changed oil and filter rinsed out tank, checked and cleaned out gunk from the pet cock, cleaned and lubed chain, filled tank with premium and stabilizer and drained carbs. I'm at 14000 miles 6000 of which I put on this season.

I think I'll get that fresh oil & filter in there. Gas tank is full w/ stabilizer, although I've read here that efi doesn't require it because of no floats.

Thanks,
Joe
