Talking Gearbox noise

Hey Guys posted this recently but have added some more info. Posted by: Deano'06

Recently bought a 2006 bonneville T100, love it, awsome ride.

When cold, changing up through the gears she won't go into top. At the same time I get a "spinning bearing noise" coming from the gearbox. Go back through the gears a few more times and she finally changes into top. Noise still there.I went for an awsome ride last weekend through some very nice countryside. Bike ran fine, no problems with gear changes but the noise was a little hit and miss. Seems to go away when hot but will come back again. Has anyone had the same problem? Would love some help.
Bike has done 31000 km's with good service history. Oil I use is motul 3100 Gold 10W40.
I bought the bike with just under 30000 km's on the clock. The bike was bought as a repairable rightoff. minor damage to left hand side. This may have bent the selector internally and be the cause of all the problems. What do you rekon???????

If it was down on the left side and you're having shifting issues, there's a good chance that the shifting mechanism may be at fault. There are very few internal transmission issues associated with these bikes, which again points to something amiss in the shifter. This sort of problem does not get better with age, so I'd get it looked at straightaway.

Have you checked the obvious? I had a mystery gearbox noise a while back... I had just started to remove the engine from the frame when a mate said, "That gearbox sprocket looks pretty worn..."
