Idle Speed /Choke Question

I have a question/concern with my 07 T-100 carb Bonneville. I purchased it this summer when morning temps were usually 70 or higher.

Full choke at cold start-up was around 1800-2000 RPM. Idle after choke release 1000- 1100 RPM.

Now morning temps are in the 40s. Engaging full choke has no effect on engine RPM. idle is about 1000 RPM. With full choke I adjusted the idle speed to 2000 RPM. After a few seconds the engine idle speed shoots up to 3000RPM.

I have re adjusted the idle speed with the engine hot back down to 1000 RPM. The bike runs great as it has all summer. But this reoccurring cold idle/choke issue is sort of a PIA when first starting.

Any of you carb owners experiencing similar cold start issues? Fixes?

You could try checking the carb heaters in case a wire's become disconnected.
