Hi team!

So, I want to clear up the back end of my 2012 Thruxton by replacing my TORS with something small and tidy. I just can't risk the D&D TT pipes for ground clearance reasons (Aussie roads are pants!). Here's what I'm thinking instead:

Lossa Stubbies
TTP breathe + bafflectomy
TTP tune #4

What does everyone think? Can I expect improved performance? Worse performance?

I welcome all advice and suggestions for alternative shorty/tt setups.

Did I mention I know flip all about how exhaust systems work?

as long as there is some baffling you would prolly be ok. on a v-twin the typical drag pipes are mostly untunable except for wide open running, very poor low + midrange, though some equate noise to power

The D&D 2 into 2 full system is an all-round winner, with pretty short mufflers (they end right at the rear axle. You can expect a fairly good bump in HP/torque over the TORs, and a weight savings as well. They're loud but not unpleasant.

These bikes respond strongly to exhaust changes (both positive and negative). If you decide to go with something home-brewed, it's difficult to tell what the performance results will be. I had a set of Sinclair Blunts for a while (very similar to Lossa Stubbies), and they performed OK but tended to be obnoxious-sounding.

I have yet to see any of the short tt type pipes but the d&d full race make much power.I would just buy something that is known to work on these bikes if you want power.If I was to make a list it would be preds ,dominators,D&D2ino2 full system,D&D 2into1.
All of those can make good power on these bikes.These bikes are picky on pipes you can even hurt power with some pipes.

Thanks so much peeps. I've since abandoned the idea of lossa Stubbies. I asked my local exhaust guys about a custom fabrication like this:

I also emailed the guy who built this bike, and he gave good feedback on his exhaust setup. He just used 17" reverse cones (a bit like emgos), chopped the headers to accommodate the pipes, and secured them to the frame. The exhaust shop said they'd custom build something similar for $500, which is also tempting.

I'm just too worried about the D&D race tt's ground clearance to risk it (otherwise I'd buy them in an instant!). Aussie roads are just too potholey I'd love their performance boost and aesthetics, but I think I'd leave them behind the moment I go over a speed bump.

If you want low pipes but need max ground clearance you should look at the Zard Cross system.
