Gunson Colourtune

I bought one of these kits and a 12mm spark plug adapter a while ago with the intention of accurately setting the idle mixtures on my T100.
The reason I haven't done it yet is because...

1/ It's almost impossible to see the inspection glass from above with the fuel tank in situ and there isn't room to use the plastic tube and viewing mirror that's supplied.

2/ I'm doubting the mixture will fire properly (if at all) using the 12mm adapter as the electrode is so far away from the combustion chamber.

Not wishing to give up on the idea, a thought occurred.
The AI plug hole looks conveniently the same size as a spark plug and in a better position to view from above without removing the fuel tank. So what's to stop me screwing the colourtune in there without the lead and letting the spark plug fire the mixture ?

AI is tapped into the exhaust port not the cylinder so I don't think you'll get anything meaningful

Ahh, thanks. I thought it was tapped into the combustion chamber as it's so close to the plug.
I might try it anyway and see if any pretty colours show up.

So, is the flame be the same colour in the combustion chamber as it is in the exhaust port ? I'm thinking it might still be useful to synchronise the mixtures.
