Greeting's Gent's......I'm wondering if anyone has expierenced this with their speedmaster? Mine is brand new and I added T.O.R. pipes the short ones about 1200 miles.It was remapped at the dealer following the install of the pipes.So I proceed to go for a ride and after about 150 miles I role on the gas and see what she has? Hmm? Hit 85 or so and not on the rev limiter either and she is bucking and surging like it needs more fuel? Down low its all there up to 75 or 80 but if you try to roll past that she just hesitates and surges. My dealer say's they don't have a clue? Myself being a sport bike guy and this my first cruiser I'm looking to find the top end of my speedmaster? The dealer says there are only 2 map's from triumph,one for full exhaust and one for slip on's. I say the bike is running lean up high? Also every now and again it will just stall when you pull out into traffic or just start out from a dead stop. My dealer can't find zip on that problem either?? Hmmm? I'm not totally happy with this bikes performance,it should run sweet for a brand new bike,don't ya think??

I would ask the dealer to escalate the problem to triumphs technical department or go to a more competent dealer.

I'm returning the bike to the dealer next week and they are going to call triumph. I realize that this bike is no speed triple but it should throttle on all the way up top with no issues!

If my memory serves me correctly, there were others on this forum who recently have been speaking about such a speed-limiting factor related to the tune map on their 2011-2012 Speedmaster machines. I am not sure what the results of those conversations were, but worthwhile searching the forum threads for more info.

I had conversation last night with a friend who knows a triumph tech,he went on to say that triumph changed the ECU in 2011 on speedy's and america's and now are having problems with these bikes at high speed.According to him triumph has no solution to this issue yet?I find it funny that the other 2 dealers in my area seem to know nothing about this?I will continue my quest to improve this issue but with winter closing in I don't know if I will get it figured out soon?

I went to another dealer today which I bought my other bikes from,there service dept. installed the air emission plugs in the top of the heads and also found that the throttle bodies were way out of sync? Sure does say alot for the dealer I bought the bike from ''A''??? The dealer I bought the bike from said adding these plugs would void my warranty and the dealer I was at today said they put these plugs on all the new triumph's they sell.The bike runs way better now,pulls strong all the way up to the top now.They also corrected the map that was put in by the dealer I purchased from? There service people said there are a few tunes for the speedmaster's. For now I'm pretty happy with the bike,all the power from it is usable and it sounds better too! Glad I put the TOR'S on it!

As of now I rolled her up to about 105 mph but I ran out of road,so at my next chance I will push her up there again and see what she does? The dealer in western ny where I had the servivce performed yesterday said that most speedy's and america's can hit 115 mph? with pipes.I will add the KN air filter in the spring also.My point with all this is this is a new bike and it should run perfect all the way up to the top. I'm not going to be running my speedy at high speed alot but I want to know it will run right up top. I have 46 yrs on motorcycles and a few sport bikes and a KTM 950 sm so I'm use to moving fast and taking notice if a bike is not running right slow or fast.I'm enjoying this motorcycle so far and love triumph and just alittle disappointed in the service from the dealer I bought it from because their service dept. I thought was top dog but I was wrong!!

I don't know about the newr bas and sm but the speedo is quite optimistic on the older ones. If mine reads 100 I'm only doing about 90. That said my 06 ba will hit 115 on the speedo.

I personally don't know why people spend twice as much coin on harley's ??? Just to say they own one?? I have been on a harley once and the person who owned it told me to hang on because it was pretty fast?? I came back from riding it and said REALLY?? I was waiting for the motor to hit? How long should I have waited?? Brakes didn't stop it well and the vibration felt like I was riding a jack hammer! If you like them thata fine but there are so many better bikes out there for half the $$$$
