neighbor exhaust complaints
due to a call from my apt manager about my loud dominator sports exhaust on my 2004 thruxton, I will be changing it back to stock : ( can someone give me an estimate of what the main jet should be changed to with stock mufflers, airbox removal kit and ai removed? current setting is 42/145. I dont' blame them, these cans are loud at 530 in the morning.

Just taking a stab here but you probably leave the 42's, adjust the air screw and bump the mains down to 135's.....see how she runs. I'd commit to pushin my bike a half block every day or even moving before swapping pipes and rejetting. Bummer. You are a good neighbor.

Thanks I will try that. Unfortunately I have a little hill to overcome to get onto the street. I park in my own two car garage and will never dare leave my bike parked on the street overnight. Too many crooks...

Surely there is another muffler you could try than having to go back to stock. What about Dominator Tourings/Norman Hyde/TORS

It's a shame more of 1950's America wasn't like your manager. Maybe Khrushchev and Castro wouldn't have hated us so much.

i used to have Predators exhausts , one day my neighboor's wife said to me that they get waken up in the morning with my bike.
I wouldn't like that myself, so that made me decide to change them for quieter one's.
I sold the predators very easly and managed to buy new TOR's with the money.
No way i would go back to stock.

This is why I feeled blessed for living out in the toolie weeds. My closest neighbors are several hundred feet away & they make more noise with their H-D's, Quads & Shot Guns (varment control) than my somewhat loud Bonnie. Hell even the rabbits don't flinch when I fire it up. Arizona for the most part is still the wild west. You don't even have to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon, you just aren't allowed to take it into establishments that serve alcohol (for obvious reasons).

Luckily my garage is at the top of the hill so I will be able to roll my bike to the bottom and bump start in 2nd near the bottom and wait for her to warm up before hitting the road. The issue will be coming back up the hill coming home when I come up the hill in first gear.
