Forced Adaption Procedure

According to the Triumph in-house Training Support Notes: Engine Management & Electrics manual a Keihin EFI equipped bike can be adapted without resetting the ECU/ECM. Here is the Triumph factory-approved method verbatim from the manual:

1. Ensure coolant is at ambient temperature
2. Start engine and allow to warm without touching the throttle until the fan comes on
3. Leave the engine to idle for a further 12 minutes.

Important Note: This procedure assumes the bike has a Lambda 02 Oxygen Sensor connected and is therefore a closed loop system

I have done the a/i and the o2 as well as the airbox baffle and a Breathe bellmouth. I used the TTP map. The bike runs perfectly! If Pieman says it, you can believe it.

I've been dying to do this to my scram (the TTP maps) but I'm still waiting on my OBDII cable to get here! So anxious to see this happen. I guess I need to invest in the AI removal kit too.

Better to use a plastic plug of the correct size than a marble. My Triumph specialist/mechanic removed the rubber hose from the air box on the left side of the bike, inserted a plug from his spares (maybe a packing cap from a part) and re-inserted the tube. Throttle snatch disappears, as does much of the bluing of your header pipes. So..., do it now. You'll like it.
