Rear Brake Master Cylinder Relocation 09 Bonnie

I'm relocating my rear master cylinder for clearance with the scrambler exhaust I'm installing. Two rotate the MC to the left and attach it to the rear frame rail.

The other option is to mount it lower like the Thruxton and Scrambler near the pedal. The problem is the pushrod is the long version.

My question is has anyone shortened their pushrod by cutting and rethreading?

M/C cylinder

I have been considering making some rearsets and have been looking at changes. You might want to have a look at the norman hyde reasets and the way they move the cylinder. Might give you some ideas.

I cut and re threaded mine when I installed Scrambler pipes. I also installed the rt peg hanger to mount the m/c so I had less to worry about.

I looked at the Norman Hyde set up and it seems the scrambler pipes would still rub against the master cylinder.

6t do you have a gallery or some pics of your setup? I'd like to check it out.

Nevermind 6t found your old post:

I'm also assuming you had to install longer brake line and brake light swithch cable.

I had to lengthen the brake switch wires a little. I used the same brake hose, just had to route it a little differently. I think it is longer than the Scram item, not too sure, but it's been fine for the last few years.
If you use the Scrambler pipes/mufflers you will need to weld a bracket to the rt top subframe to take the weight of the mufflers.

In case you need it here's a pic of the rear muffler hanger that I welded to the top frame rail. I saw it in a hardware store. it was supposed to be a gate hinge but it looked the part and was stong enough, and not too expensive.
