I have a pair if the non-cone shorties on my bike. These ones: http://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/index....t_detail&p=793 Love 'em. In fact, I'm debating chopping the last bend in my headers and bolting them on under the frame for a TT-ish look.
They have a removable baffle, although the first time I used them, all the stock packing blew out and I've never replaced it. I have left the baffle in, though. Below 3k rpm, it's quiet enough for sneaking around the neighborhood, but it makes a nice little racket when you push it up into the powerband.

Hey Burphel
Any chance of a pic of your shorty mufflers on your bike?

I bought an xs650 with the non cone mufflers and it was prohibitively loud so i changed them to the cone type
and it was a lot more bearable
but there wasn't much "throat" in either but lots of "quack' in both
i prefer throat, but then the vid just then made them sound sweet and racey
i was initially looking for a louder tone on my Bonneville but have grown to love the fact it is quiet, seems kinder on the environment somehow, also lots of horses on the roads here in summer....in addition to mine i mean..

I just bought the British Customs mini reverse cones for my scrambler and they are too loud for me. I'm interested in trading them for either a set of TORS, or staintunes. I don't care if either are scratched up because I'm going to ceramic coat them anyway. My cones are flawless chrome and have only been run on the bike for one minute, British Customs won't let me return them. I'm willing to make up a cost difference on the trade. PM me or call 8587529548

Got a few of them in my gallery, although it seems most of them were taken on rainy days for some reason. The only real downside to these IMO is that the small size really emphasizes the bends in the pipe. Hence my thoughts about under-slinging them.

Hey Burphel...I just bought the same shorties from Lowbrow for my 04 bonneville black. Did you have to re-jet? or would you if you went ahead with the under-sling? Thanks for any help! ~Amy

Actually, I found a great deal on actual TT pipes and did that instead. My bike's fuel injected, but I had it dyno'd and wound up using the Arrow 2:1 map (a lot richer). So yeah, rejetting will likely make a world of difference. Unfortunately, I can't help you with what settings to use.

I have these in the garage awaiting installation. I will be installing them on scrambler exhaust pipes because I like the highmount exhaust look over the low pipes on my 09 bonneville.
So it will look something like this.
I have completed a repack with some good fiberglass matt (FMF i believe). I modified the baffle tube by adding a stainless steel sink crumb cup at both ends to help quiet them a bit. I'll remove the front mesh if it quiets it too much.
