New Arrow 2-1, bike sounds like a Honda dirt bike!!!

I have a new t100, and just installed an arrow 2-1 exhaust. Fit and finish is excellent, and so is performance, but the bike doesn't sound like a street bike. My Thruxton with predators sounds way better... totally different. I'm thinking of selling the exhaust and getting the Zard cross exhaust. Does anyone have any experience with the way this sounds? Will it be the same???

Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks!

Get a pair of Norman Hyde Togas and leave the arrow 2-1 tune in the ECM. It'll look and sound more like a British bike.

I just can't get into the look of either Arrow system on the T-100.

I had the Zard Cross fitted for a while.........

One word........ LOUD!! :D

But it was an easy swap back to the Zard Low as it uses the same headers.

Much better IMHO!! :)

Ventura - how would you say the zard cross compares to the arrow 2-1? I know they're loud, but do they sound more like a street bike?
Unfortunately cant comment on the Arrows as Ive never heard any.

As far as the Zard Cross goes, it certainly sounds more Motocrosser than it does a street bike.
It really is too loud for the street and here in UK is just inviting attention from the boys in blue!
There's no way it would pass our annual MOT test either.

Im surprised by the comments on the close proximity to the oil cooler banjo?
The "Cross" and the "Low" Zard systems share a common 2:1 header which Ive been running for over two years now.
I fitted the pipes new originally and had no such problem and found there's plenty clearance with banjo and oil line.
The fit and finish IMHO cant be really faulted.
The only issue I had was I had to make an offset mounting bolt to secure the "silencer" end.

In saying that tho, if your after more "streetable" pipes, the Cross probably isnt for you anyway.
I tried it for a while but sold them on eventually and reverted to the "Low" pipes.

ZARD Cross is Laud and very much liek a dirt bike, what i like, but can be anoying for longer trips. ALso is not street legal for sure!
Finish is so so, pipes do not feet right, there is no space between bango bold of the oil cooler and the pipe, so is not good at all.
Also Im using ARROW 2-1 map and i think It los a lit bit of power.
I have installed autotune and gonna post the map for comparation very soon.

Anywya- i think ZARD is not the way U would like to go...

Martin - thanks for the info. That's exactly what I worried about. I had a slight problem with the ARROW 2-1 as far as the banjo bolt. I turned it away as much as possible without causing the line to kink, but it's still lightly touching the pipe. No sense in switching if I'm still going to have the same problem, and the same dirt bike sound, only louder!

It sure looks pretty though...

Thanks!

I have a Bonneville with the Arrow 2:1 fitted and delivered new by the dealer in 2012 with the baffle removed. I have passed the UK MOT every year with just a wtitten remark that the exhaust is loud.
Surely with the baffle inside, noise isn't an issue? So why does Arrow state that the 2:1 system isn't legal for public roads use?

It may be that in some places, messing with the homologated exhaust at all is illegal, especially if the exhaust comes with a new fuel map (as the Arrow mine did).
