Seat Cushion For Sore Butts

Hi everyone,

I started researching different seat cushion from memory foam, air inflated cushions to motorcycle seat pads and gel seats. It seems that the gel seats cushions are the best for vibration reduction with riders. Has anyone tried it yet or something similar? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated it. I just bought a 07 Bonnie and haven't been riding because of a sore butt I really want to get back on my bike again.

There are several sites on DIY seat mods, which is the way I went, hijacking one of my wife's Danskin exersize mats for the purpose. The result was blissful comfort until my wife found out(ended up trading one PITA for another). It's really pretty easy once you've read up on it and know more or less what to do. Here's the site I used, but I'm sure there are others, as well as some threads on this forum.

Go to the auto parts store and buy a car wash mitt. Then go to the craft store and buy some foam. Come home and cut the foam into squares and then stuff them into the car wash mitt. Devise a mounting system and there is your seat cushion.

I have the AIR Hawk air filled seat cover and it is great, absolutelt no problems. I can ride all day stopping only for fuel and no sore butt, worth every penny.
Have a look at their website.

You may also look at an option using memory foam over gel. I've 'heard' this is a great solution. I have found someone to do my seat for me, I just need to procure the materials.

Which Air Hawk do you have? I'm thinking of getting the AH 2 medium cruiser.

I thought of making my own cushion but at the moment I don't have the time or interest I need something right away. The only thing I'm not crazy about with the air cushion is that it's prone to leaks.
