I've decided to bob the rear fender on my Thrux and install a Lucas style tail light. Only thing is I have seen several members post about how dim the lights everyone seems to be selling are. Does anybody make an LED version of these lights ? I would rather not get run over because the Soccer Mom who is talking on her cell phone behind me can't see my brake light.
Good point. The brake filament is far brighter than the tail light one. If you have it backwards and the brake light is always on and the tail light comes on when switched, you'll barely be able to tell the difference in light output. If you have it the correct way it will be obvious brighter when the brakes are applied.
This weekend I was riding at the Slimey Crud Run here in Wisconsin and for a brief time was behind a nice Thruxton with the low profile lucas style tail light. Compared to the LED Lucas light I installed, the regular lucas light is not as bright especially when braking.
