Count me in. A six speed would totally transform these bikes. I love the accelleration of the 17t sprocket but cruising with the 19t is hard to beat. Six speed...........best of both worlds.

Well I have tried ever combination I know and still cannot post my video so sorry Just have to put up with pictures

Right, the basics, I'm skint and trying to do the six speed gearbox for free

I have a 2002 955i gearbox just hanging around. I also have a mangled set of bonneville crank cases with five speed gearbox

The Five speed gearbox is a six speed box with fifth gear missing - Yes I know is sounds daft but thats triumph fault

I took the missing fifth gear from the six speed box and put it on the five speed set up
This is the five speed layshaft with six gear put in next to the five speed main shaft

Apart from a couple of circlip groves missing from the layshaft, the gear goes straight on.

This is the five speed shafts (layshaft & Main shaft) with the missing gear on both, again nothing major wrong, couple of circlip grooves missing and the blank gear has more engagement points than the older fifth gear now on the main shaft

My videos show the set up in the upper and lower cases revolving with no problems, a small part of one of the crankcase webs had to be removed but nothing else

Bonneville gear selector

955i gear selector

Both selectors identical

Bonneville Selector forks

955i Selector forks

Things are looking up at this stage 955i gearbox and parts appear identical to the Bonnevilles and are totally interchangable
