Thumbs down Uneven Tire Wear [w/photos]

Hope to get some ideas about this topic.
The pertinent information and problem:
'09 Thruxton, stock suspension, 7500 miles, original Metzler front tire, original Metzler rear tire is peachy good, recently installed front brake pads, never had tire off the bike, has weights only on one side [the side that's worn. The tire is very noticeably more worn on the left side [as sitting upon], from the center line on. ***? Maybe you can see this in these photos:

Never had such an occurrence. I am thinking that having weights only on one side is the culprit. I am also thinking that if it should have had weights on both sides, Triumph owes me a tire!

The rear is pretty meaty and should take me through the summer. Thoughts?

Apparently this sort of wear on the left side of the front tire is common on bikes in countries that drive on the right. Read this article on the reason why:

I know nothing about tires but I don't think the weights have anything to do with it.

weights only on one side is fine. maybe they aren't balanced with the correct weight.

Very interesting stuff! Sounds logical too; my left turns are longer.
But what about the weights? I am no tire guy, but it seems that weights are added to both sides [and that's how I've always done it in my garage]. Further, I have never noticed this phenomenon before - and I've worn out a good number of tires.
And thanks, Forchetteo!

Well, I guess I can kiss goodbye a new, free tire?

It's not the side of the road that's the problem, you must be turning the same direction all the time. You should drive it the other way around the block once in a while.
